About ČD

České dráhy (ČD) is the national railway operator of the Czech Republic, founded in 1993 and headquartered in Prague. As the principal carrier on the Czech rail network, ČD operates a comprehensive mix of domestic and international services ranging from local trains to premium high-speed connections.

ČD's flagship fleet includes the tilting SuperCity Pendolino, the brand-new Siemens/Škoda ComfortJet (entering service from 2024), and the proven Siemens Railjet. Together these trains connect Prague with major Czech cities and international destinations including Vienna, Berlin, Budapest, and -- from May 2026 -- Copenhagen.

Onboard amenities vary by train type but typically include free WiFi, power sockets, a restaurant or bistro car, and up to three travel classes. ČD is known for affordable fares, a strong draught-beer-on-board tradition, and one of Europe's most ambitious fleet renewal programmes.
