About iryo

iryo is Spain's first private high-speed rail operator, launched in November 2022 on the Madrid–Barcelona corridor. A joint venture of Italian state railway Trenitalia (51%), Spanish airline Air Nostrum (25%), and infrastructure fund Globalvia (24%), iryo made Spain the first European country with three competing high-speed operators alongside Renfe and OUIGO España.

Operating 20 Frecciarossa 1000 trainsets — the same Italian-designed trains used by Trenitalia — iryo offers four fare classes ranging from budget-friendly Inicial to the premium Infinita Bistró with at-seat dining. All classes feature free 5G WiFi, power sockets and USB ports at every seat, and an entertainment portal for streaming films and series from your mobile device.

iryo's Haizea gastronomic concept brings traditional Spanish dishes and tapas made with fresh, seasonal, and local produce to the onboard experience. The café carriage serves tapas, wines with Designation of Origin, and professional barista-made Italian espressos. Every iryo ticket includes free Cercanías commuter train connections in Madrid and Barcelona.
