From 2026, all services use new Czech Railways ComfortJet carriages — modern 9-car fixed-formation trains with two 1st class cars, six 2nd class cars, a full restaurant car, free WiFi and power sockets at every seat. The route is jointly operated by Czech Railways, Deutsche Bahn, OBB and MAV.
Advance tickets start from just €19 in 2nd class. The scenic stretch along the Elbe river between Decin and Bad Schandau is one of the most beautiful railway sections in Central Europe, with dramatic rock formations rising directly from the riverbanks.

From 2026, all Prague-Berlin departures use new Czech Railways ComfortJet 9-car trains with modern interiors, power sockets at all seats and free WiFi. These replace the older EuroCity coaches.
Monday Cancellations in 2026
Due to trackwork, on Mondays from 16 March to 12 December 2026, most Berlin-Prague trains are cancelled except the 17:28 and 19:28 from Berlin and 06:31 from Prague. Plan accordingly.
No Border Control
Both Czech Republic and Germany are in the Schengen Area. There is no passport control on the train, but carry a valid ID as random checks may occur.
Restaurant Car
All EuroCity trains have a full restaurant car serving hot meals, Czech beer and coffee. Prices are reasonable compared to Western European dining cars.
